Appointment
Mrs O.A Taiwo (Chief Registrar of the High Court), Mrs O.O. Oke Lawal (Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court Lagos) and Ms Sybil Nwaka, Chief Magistrate and one of the editors of Newsletter of the Lagos State Judiciary have been appointed
as High Court judges.

Mr O. Dabiri (former Registrar of Titles) is now the Chief Registrar of the High Court.

The new improved, streamlined and computerized Case flow in the civil litigation process of the High Court of Lagos State, under the Civil Process Improvement & Automation Project is deployed as the Court Automated Information Management System (CAIS) which runs on the local and wide area networks connecting all the four High Court divisions of Ikeja, Lagos, Ikorodu and Badagry, in Lagos State.

The entire civil litigation Case flow from filing to final disposition has been streamlined, improved upon and automated.

Hon. Justice Inumidun Enitan Akande sits as the Admin judge in Ikeja Judicial Division. Indeed, this fact may not be known to many but rarely does My Lady grant interviews. In this edition, My Lady speaks candidly about her Judicial career and experience on the bench for the past 15 years.


Visit of the Attorneys General

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Chief Akin Olujimi (SAN) as well as the Attorneys General of all the states of  Nigeria met in Lagos recently.  The Hon Chief Judge  of Lagos State Hon.  Justice Ibitola Sotuminu and the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Prof Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) played the perfect hostess and host respectively.

As they conducted them round the Ministry of Justice, the Multidoor Court House otherwise known as the ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Centre located at the High court premises Lagos.

Hon. Justice Odunneye retires.

Hon. Justice James Odunneye retires on Monday 23rd February 2004 when he attains the age of 65.

A valedictory court session is being arranged in his honour on that day. The session will hold at the Foyer of the Lagos High Court at 10.00am. You are invited one and all.

The Hon. Justice A.F. Adeyinka takes over as Chief Judge

of Lagos state on Monday, 8th March, 2004. He succeeds Hon. Justice I. A Sotiminu who retires on Friday, 5th March, 2004.
